1. Flag of Ukraine

This country has a simple two-colored flag. There are two horizontal lines on the flag of yellow and blue color. Though this flag has been hoisted since 1848, it was officially adopted by the then government in the year 1918. And when it comes to the official postal stamp, appeared for the first time in 1992.

There are certain locations in the country where the flags are custom and mandatorily displayed like the Kyiv city council, Presidential administration building, embassies, and consulates. Since 2004, every year on August 23, the country has celebrated National Flag Day.

2. Flag of Alaska

The flag of Alaska has a dark blue field. On the field, there are eight stars in golden color. Basically, the stats are placed in a manner that forms Polaris and the Big Dipper on a blue field. The blue field simply represents the skies of the country. Moreover, also the flower called forget-me-not is represented by the blue field. The Big Dipper symbolizes strength.

Also known as the north star, Polaris symbolizes the future of the nation. The flag is somewhat based on the design submitted by Benny Benson. At that time of submission, he was thirteen years old. The flag was officially hoisted for the first time on 9th July 1927.

3. Flag of Indiana

Designed by Paul Hadley, Indiana’s flag was officially adopted on 11th May 1917. In the center of the flag or say the field, a torch is placed. It signifies enlightenment and strength. The rays around the torch indicate the influence of the power of the nation. The field is of dark blue color.

Moreover, there are a total of nineteenth stars on the field around the torch. In the outer circle, there are thirteen stars, marking the presence of the thirteen original states in the country. Then five stars just below the outer circle, representing the states that joined after Indiana. The nineteenth star being the biggest star is for Indiana.

4. Flag of Oregon

The country’s flag has a navy blue field with golden-colored lettering on it. In 1925, the flag was officially adopted by the government. It is the only state in the United States whose flag has pictures on the front as well as back. On the front side, there is the seal of the state. It reads the words ‘State of Oregon’. Moreover, the pictures that are visible on the flag depict the mountains and forests of the state.

There can also be seen a picture of the sun setting on the pacific ocean and a man departing, who is a Britisher, implying the end of British rule in the country. Oregon was the 33rd state to be admitted, this is why there are 33 stars on the flag representing the same.

5. Flag of Sweden

On the national flag of Sweden, there is a yellow-colored Nordic cross on a plain blue field. The cross, as we know, symbolizes Christianity. The idea of using these colors on the flag was based on the coat of arms of Sweden of 1442.

Surprisingly, the fact when the flag came into being or was actually adopted is unknown. It’s just that the oldest picture of the flag dates back to the 16th century. The yellow cross or the Nordic cross is stipulated as a royal warrant and this is why it is there on the flag.

6. Flag of Palau

On the flag of Palau, there is a blue-colored field and a yellow disc in the middle of it. The disc is a symbol of the moon that represents warmth, love, and peace. The full moon is considered to be a great event in Palauan culture. The full moon day is considered to be a prosperous one to start fishing, plantation, or any other new activity.

Its flag was officially hoisted for the first time on January 1, 1981. A competition was conducted to select the design of the flag. As a result, Blau Skebong’s design was approved and selected by the government.

7. Flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Designed by Zvonimir Bebek, the flag consists of a dark blue field. In the middle, there is a bright yellow triangle that divides the field into two parts. There is a diagonal line of nine stars in white color. The first and the last star are not complete. They are cut by the edges of the flag. Owing to its diverse ethnic population, this country never had its national symbols. The coat of arms used by King Stjepan Tomaš is used as a design on the flag. The flag was. The same was officially adopted on 4th May 1992.

8. Flag of Sussex

The country’s flag is based on its traditional emblem. On a blue field, there are six gold markets. Marlet is a mythical creature. It is a bird without any feet. The origin of these birds dates back to 1611. There are a total of six birds on the flag that symbolize six medieval administrative areas. The flag institute of Sussex officially registered the flag of the country in 2011. Now, the flag can be seen outside local schools, public offices, courts, and other government buildings.

9. Flag of Kazakhstan

In 1992, the country’s flag was officially adopted. Designed by Shaken Niyazbekov, the flag has a light blue field and a golden-colored sun on it. There can be seen a soaring steppe eagle beneath the sun. Also, there is a vertical band on the left corner that represents some kind of pattern. The blue field represents the sky and it symbolizes integrity, unity, and fidelity. The sky means a lot in Turkish culture as people worship it as their god. Moreover, the sun is a symbol of life, energy, strength; abundance, and wealth.

10. Flag of The City of Opole

Its flag has two horizontal lines on it, of yellow and blue color. There can be a symbol that represents the court of arms. The city is located in southern Poland. It is the capital of Opole Voivodeship. There is not much information about the origin and adoption of the flag.
